Description:
What are the key levers to secure a resilient and sustainable European battery material supply chain? Dependency on both critical raw materials and battery technology from outside Europe persists. As demand for batteries surges, industry, academia, and policymakers must collaborate to mitigate supply risks and drive innovation. The expert discussion ‘How to Strengthen the European Battery Material Supply Chain?‘ on January 27 brings together the perspectives of leading researchers and industry pioneers.
Prof. Robert Dominko, head of the battery group at the National Institute of Chemistry in Slovenia and professor at the University of Ljubljana, Dr. Guinevere Giffin, Scientific Head at Fraunhofer ISC’s R&D Center for Electromobility Bavaria, and Dr. Moritz Hantel, VP of Innovation and Product Management at Northern Graphite, will delve into the potential impact of the proposed Chinese materials and technology export ban, address Europe’s enduring gap between research and commercial battery production, and explore how recycling could provide sustainable solutions to Europe’s battery material supply challenges. What strategies will shape a stronger, more autonomous material supply chain for the future of Europe’s battery industry?
Our speakers:
Prof. Robert Dominko is head of the battery group at the National Institute of Chemistry in Slovenia and a professor at the University of Ljubljana.
