    The European Union has awarded FREYR Battery €122 million from the Innovation Fund to advance industrial-scale production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode materials in Vaasa, Finland. With a target capacity of 30,000 tons annually, this project could significantly bolster Europe’s clean energy storage sector. Final funding approval is expected by early 2025, aligning with FREYR’s goal to balance sustainable operations between Europe and the U.S.
